When I think about it, I have friends all over the world. And how amazingly cool is that?? Most, I've never met in real life, but some I have. Yesterday was a day that was all about "meeting" and "reuniting" with some of them.
I had my first voice/webcam chat with wendy_in_md yesterday morning. I've known her online for about 4 years now. We are fellow scrapbookers...er...collectors. LOL We met on a yahoo group for scrapbooking. We really hit it off, along with another gal on there, but we've never met IRL. But, by the wonders of the Internet, yesterday we talked and saw each other! I think we talked for about an hour almost. What fun. Another person who I'd be really close to if we actually lived by each other.
Also, recently, a fellow USC J-school grad caught up with me through LJ. I have USC listed in my schools info. Imagine my surprise and delight when she contacted me! Last time I saw neonhummingbird was at my bachlorette party, I do believe. My wedding wasn't local otherwise that might have been the last time I saw her. LOL Anyway, so glad to have made contact again, neonhummingbird! No, I wasn't trying to avoid you - I'm just bad at replying to emails right away. LOL And yes, if you ever make it to South Korea, you have a place to hang. :-D
It really is amazing. I have friends/family who I regularly keep in touch with in the US, Canada, the UK, Australia and India.
Ok, 2005 is looking a bit better now in the record books. ;-)
PS. BTW, if you haven't already, add yourself to my Frappr map.
