Stephen Colbert had this idea, which I thought was awesome:
All the House Republicans who voted "NO" on the Stimulus package should also refuse any of the money for their districts. After all, they voted against it, shouldn't they stick to their principals?
"It won't be easy, but you are fighting for a principle! If we can't have a perfect bill to stimulate the economy -- you'd rather have no economy at all."
Also, who listens to Rush Limbaugh? I mean seriously? How could anyone continue to listen to him after he said that he hopes Obama fails? Of course he would say that - he doesn't have to worry about paying the mortgage or feeding his family. How would he suffer if the country continues to spiral downward?
In more personal news, Chris and I did our part to stimulate the economy. We finally found an entertainment center we both could agree on. This weekend was spent partly in setting it up and rearranging the living room and partly in cheering at Sheryl's house while watching what turned out to be a damn good football game (even if the Cardinals lost). Which doesn't really matter to me, I was only half-heartedly rooting for the Cards cause ex-USC quarterback Matt Leinart is on their roster. I usually like the Steelers better. More important to me was the fact that it was a pretty exciting and close game.
Figures, finally getting back into football and its the end of the season. *sigh*
In one week, Maya will be nine years old. Wow. Just...wow.
