GoPets - A Movement In Time And Space — LiveJournal
Moving through time and space in our own way
Ok, here is the reason we are making the crazy move to Seoul in the first place: GoPets.

Chris is now working for this company as Vice President of Operations. Fancy, huh? Well, I guess so. Anyway, GoPets used to be just a client of his until his trip out there in January when Erik (the CEO) decided to turn our lives upside down. Nah, I'm not the least bit bitter...

But, since he is working for them and we are moving (really, are we? it is still so surreal), I might aw well try to contribute to GoPets ultimate success. So let me tell you a little bit about what GoPets is.

"GoPets are virtual pets that live on your desktop and roam freely across the Internet, befriending other pets and people. They carry messages, convey gifts and keep their eyes open for people who have something in comon with you. GoPets is the first truly global online social network, laying the foundation for friendships across every boundary."

What is cool about it is that eventually you can make friends based on similar interests. For instance, if you are a scrapbooker, like me, your pet will seek out my desktop and pet to visit and make friends with, simply based on the fact that we share an interest in scrapbooking. Pretty cool, huh? Much more than the other virtual pets can offer!

Right now, GoPets is in closed beta testing. So, the word is only getting out by word of mouth (or word of journal, as the case may be). Use the link to check it out and join. There are some bugs, but if you think you could handle helping test out the programs, then do so.

And I promise: "GoPets is not Spyware, Adware or Malware! GoPets is completely safe. It is not a virus or a worm, nor does it enable any viruses or worms to act on your computer. GoPets is a pure client-server 3D application with the same network architecture of a massively multiplayer online game."

Maya loves to log on and play with her kitty. It is fun for all ages and actually a lot of the current beta testers are kids. She's already made friends with another little girl who likes to play Zelda on her Gameboy and another kid who loves Teen Titans! Maya has those likes in her profile and voila! Friends with similar tastes! Pretty cool, I say!

What I'm feeling: impressed impressed

GoPets is really cute, and I'm very glad that I stumbled upon it!

Apparantly my kitty went to visit someone with the same birthday (same day/month/and year) as mine! I didn't know if that just just merely coincidental or the way it is programmed.
What am I doing in here? If I wish to talk GoPets, I'll just spam up the forum, not your LJ!

I didn't know Chris was Vice Pres. of Operations! Wow, that makes sense now that I put two and two together though.

This move is going to be quite a move for you. I've been pretty nomadic my entire life, and yet every move seems just as surreal as the last. But we always stayed within the United states and American territories...
It could be very exciting to move out of the country for a brand new experience.

I think I've already typed too much in here, so:

Best wishes,

I wish I could join... but alas, Macintosh computers are not supported. :(

Still, what a neat idea!

Glad you seem to be doing better,
